Dallas International Toy Import Show

In 1992, DMC was selected by Toys "R" Us to host its annual import toy buy, formerly held in Hong Kong. The success of that show led to the creation of the Dallas International Toy Import Show (D.I.T.I.S.) in 1995. Unlike traditional trade shows, the D.I.T.I.S. program is designed to serve a targeted micro-retail audience. D.I.T.I.S. now includes major toy merchants such as Caldor, Bradlees, JCPenney, Target, Toys "R" Us, Sears, Spiegel, Inc., and Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). Retailers attending D.I.T.I.S. account for 80% of the annual wholesale toy sales in the United States.

The D.I.T.I.S. program allows domestic companies to work with foreign producers to develop unique products at a low cost. Bypassing extended stays in Hong Kong allows retailers to reduce travel costs and requirements of sourcing internationally-produced products. D.I.T.I.S. creates an efficient buying atmosphere where retailers can accomplish in days what previously took weeks.
